Sola Ettore & C makes its own refrigerated warehouses, in Vignola, near Modena, available to third parties. The company's history began in the 1930s, when the owner, Ettore Sola, unveiled a small machine for the production of columns of ice, attaching some storage units for cold storage of meat. In 1953, he built one of the first industrial refrigeration systems for the seasoning salted meats, and the refrigeration of fruit and vegetable products.
In 1960s, the plant doubled in size and introduced controlled-atmosphere storage – an innovation at the time – building new refrigerated warehouses entirely dedicated to the preservation of fruit. The facilities have been augmented and refined over subsequent years by updating the technology used. Today, the company owns a total of 72 refrigerated units over a combined area of 27000 sq. metres.
The company, now a benchmark in Emilia Romagna, has created the ability within its cold storage facilities to provide its customers a platform for the sorting of palletised goods. The service involves load weighing with a weigh bridge, identification, and computerised cataloguing of loads for prompt availability and billing. Guaranteeing the quality of service are the multiple companies who have been, for many years, our customers, including:
